How Do You Say Goodbye

For over forty-three years, Georgia State Beauty Culturist League, Inc. has been led by an outstanding, dedicated,  no mission impossible attitude of a real superwoman.  However bittersweet as this is, we, the members, had to say farewell to her at this April's State Convention.

It came as a total surprise, on Monday Night's Youth for Beauty Puttin' on the Hits, when she walked into a dark room and all yelled surprise!!!!!  (luckily we didn't give her a heart attack) Lights on, and away we go.....she received her tiara, as any queen would) and was showered with many gifts and entertained by some of the best!

Our hats are off to Dr. Barbara Pressley and Dr. Rosa Taylor for implementing  this creative idea of showing how much she is truly loved.  Also, to Dr. Wilma Reeves for coordinating her family members that were in attendance.

Dr. Ruth Cherry Swint affiliated herself along this magnificent career with many organizations and founded a few.  Such as, a member of Toastmasters, Greater Macon Women Business Owners, State of Georgia Small Business Development under Gov. Joe Frank Harris, founding member of Georgia's Association of Minority Entrepreneurs (GAME)., Co-founder of Black Youth and Entrepreneurship Program of the University of Georgia and with all that had time to own and operate Ruth's Hair Fashion (Macon).

Her success within the National beauty Culturists' Leagues, Inc. extends to serving as 4th Vice President under Dr. Katie B. Wickham, 2nd Vice President under Dr. Cleolis Richardson, 2nd Vice President under Dr. Wanda Nelson and presently serve as Chairman of Finance under Dr. Katie B. Catalon.

Her greatest love is family: Widow of the late Mr. Lenton Swint, Sr., she has four daughters, five granddaughters and one grandson, ten great-grands and one great-great grand.  She denotes this accomplishment as a "Five Star Generation."  Now, her biggest achievement is being an "Uber Driver" for her great grands and great-great grand.  Member of Tremont Temple Missionary Baptist Church (Macon), she serves on the trustee board, culinary ministry and several more.  She loves making floral arrangements which she does for her church and others.  She loves to cook, especially cakes.

Thank you, Dr. Swint for being being a true pioneer and leader for God, family, GSBCL and community.  We love YOU and there's nothing you can do about it!!  May you always have the favor of God's love to shine upon you.
